BRIEF REPORT ON THE ELDER WORKSHOP HELD IN TCHESSA END AUGUST 2016
The Church in Tete province is cared for by 2 Pastors with 68 to 80 churches. The training of the elders like these helps them to manage day to day duties required at congregation level. They report to the Pastor once or twice in a month to update him and make arrangements of programs and what is required and what is to be done next.
This one was with a difference in that the General Secretary and the Projects Coordinator was in attendance and they had time to share with them on how the church is run and what are the major requirements. It was awesome and the participation was great and a great blessing to Tete City as one of the elders put it, ï have never been blessed like this in my life time where i come for lessons and fortunately meet the Synod Moderamen, am so blessed to be in Presbyterian Church.”
The Facilitator was the Tete City Pastor who is also the moderator of the presbytery.

stop hunger now 013

Around the corner and around the world.
Our members love to volunteersome at food pantries, some as mentors to at-risk young people, some at medical clinics for the disadvantaged, and many many more ways. Once a year, many of our members gather to glean orange groves, to help supply food pantries across central Florida. We also meet with other Presbyterians to package food for Stop Hunger Now which goes to third-world countries to feed school children and disaster victims. We are a very giving church: all through the year there are numerous drives to collect items for the various ministries we support.  At any given time, when there is a need, our congregation comes through overwhelmingly. At this time, part of our monetary support goes to mission causes through Central Florida Presbytery and the PC(USA). In addition, we support two missionaries in Mozambique, Lake Cares Food Pantry, Agape Ministries, Good News Jail & Prison Ministry, The Open Door homeless ministry in Eustis and The Outreach Foundation, a global evangelistic mission organization.  These are

all just projects overseen by our Mission Committee. Our Presbyterian Women and our Presbyterian Men have additional mission projects … and our preschool supports various ministries, as well. We love missions at FPCMD!
